Specimen Rejection Policy

For the benefit of patient safety, specimens sent under the below conditions would be rejected: 

  1. Unlabelled samples.
  2. Samples not accurately and properly identified.
  3. Use of incorrect container or collected improperly (use of non-sterile containers).
  4. Insufficient sample volume.
  5. Clotted sample.
  6. Use of expired collection media, tube or kit.
  7. Contaminated samples.
  8. Leaking / Broken container.
  9. Suboptimal sample (too old to yield accurate results)
